Heritage Fjord Walk

 

This adventure is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Site`s history, culture and nature and to explore the unique and inspiring fjord scienery that was created by glaciers and rivers thousands of years ago.

By the pristine shores along the fjord you will enjoy your picknik lunch before you end the walk in one of the peaceful farm villages. Here you enter the boat for another fjord cruise back to Gudvangen.

The tour starts and ends in Gudvangen, with options to connect from Voss, Bergen, Hardanger and Flåm.

 

 

This trip includes two boat trips on the Nærøyfjord.

The tour starts by boat from Gudvangen, and after a short fjord cruise, you will start the 5 kilometres walk at leisure pace on the historic interesting Postal Path from mid 1600. 

The walk goes on a well formed, but partly uneven path through charming and peaceful forrests and pastures along the shores of the mighty and breathtaking fjord.

The numerous high and snow capped mountains and cascading rivers and waterfalls provide a magnificient backdrop for the walk along the fjord.

En route the guide will call stops to explain the unique features of the fjord and its surroundings, and from time to time you might spot seals, porpoises and some of the many native birds.
